I'm Going to Be an Aunt Again.....

to 2 sweet puppies!!!  My brother Brad and Tim's brother Steven are both getting puppies this summer!

Meet, Ella Flack!  This is Steven, Vadessa, Lauren Ashley and Parker's new puppy!  She is still very young and will be with her mother dog until we all get back from the beach mid June.  Isn't she adorable!!! Can't wait to play with her!

I don't have a picture of Brad, Tiff, and Sabrina's puppy yet - they will get him or her in August hopefully!  But, their story is pretty exciting!  Their puppy, Kai (named after the trails in the Grand Canyon - Brad spent a lot of time there when he was in school at Northern Arizona University), is going to be a Diabetic Alert Dog.  This is so awesome for their family!  Because Brad's diabetes is so brittle, many times he can drop from 300 to 30 in an hour without  being able to recognize any change.  This has led to a few car accidents, so much worry, and I could imagine a feeling of having absolutely no control.  He will be able to drive again, sleep without anxiety, and go about his work and activities all with Kai by his side.  The dog will be highly trained to notice and alert Brad and Tiff when Brad has high blood sugar or low.  Pretty amazing!  The dog is pretty expensive because of all that training - $20,000!  They are in the midst of major fundraising... you can read more about their story at http://fightingtype1.blogspot.com/.  The stories of how dogs have saved lives is so inspirational and really helps me see how true their slogan is: "Until there is a CURE, there is a DOG!"
