Right after Madeline's birthday, our sweet dog, Wren, passed away. We think he was about 13 1/2 years old. We got him at the humane society when we were searching for an outside cat to scare off squirrels that were stealing from our garden! We ended up with our sweet, sweet dog, who really didn't scare off the squirrels - but we loved him so much anyway!
A couple days before he died, he had a seizure. The vet said he may have a brain tumor and that he was getting very old. She also said that the arthritis in his hips was hurting him, too, and making it hard for him to get around - even with some pain management medicine. We waited another day, but he had another seizure, and we knew it was time.
On the way to the vet after the first seizure.
Home again...
Resting….
Love this sweet dog. He has been such a wonderful friend!
One of his favorite spots - he loved to watch the cars and people walking in the park.
His last "Frosty Paw" - dog ice cream.
The kids wrote these sweet notes to bury with him.
Eli's says, "Wrenny, I love you. You are going to be happy."
We are so happy he is not hurting anymore, but so very sad that he is not here anymore.
A family dog is so very special. We will miss him, and we are so glad he was in our lives.
